I started knitting after finding my son was allergic to any plastic or pul diaper covers I tried to use on him. I bought a couple pairs of wool covers and then decided I wanted to create them myself. After showing off a few pairs I made for my son and getting rave reviews, I decided to start making customs.
I tried several patterns and ended up coming up with my own pattern for longies/shorties/soakers. I personally don't like drawstrings on my son's shorties/longies/soakers. They are one more step in the diaper changing and dressing process that I don't want to deal with. So, after many trial and error pairs I made my own pattern that is drawstring free. "Look mom, no strings!" They have a small, but very stretchy waistband that allows them to be comfortably worn without having to tie them up to keep them from falling down. My waistbands fit most any size, but I do change it slightly to accommodate for newborns and older toddlers.
I use several types of yarn: merino, Peruvian, silk blends, soy blends, cotton to name a few. I can usually find any color or type of yarn you want me to use. I do work with several moms that can custom dye yarn for a desired blend of colors. If you have something very specific you would like me to use you can mail me the yarn for your custom order.
